Privacy Policy

Effective date: October 5, 2026

This policy explains what information Berman Creative collects through this website (bermancreative.com) and through Berman Creative Ads API, our internal Google Ads tool, and what we do with it.

The short version: we collect very little, we use it only to do our work, and we never sell it.

Who we are

Berman Creative is a marketing and go-to-market practice run by Jeff Berman in Boston, Massachusetts, since 2002. In this policy, "Berman Creative," "we," and "us" mean Berman Creative.

Information you give us

Contact forms. Several pages on this site have a short form that asks for your name, your email address, and a message. We use what you send only to reply to you and to talk about working together. Form submissions are sent to our email. We won't add you to a mailing list unless you ask to be added.

Email. If you email us, we keep the message in our email account (Google Workspace) so we can reply and keep a record of our conversation.

Information collected automatically

This site is hosted by Squarespace. When you visit, Squarespace automatically collects standard visitor information to run the site and give us basic traffic statistics: pages viewed, the site that referred you, approximate location, browser and device type, and IP address. Squarespace sets these cookies:

  • crumb: a security cookie that protects form submissions. It's deleted when you close your browser.
  • ss_cvr and ss_cvt: Squarespace Analytics cookies that count visits and tell new visitors apart from returning ones.

The site also loads typefaces from Adobe Fonts. One form uses Google reCAPTCHA to block spam, and Google's Privacy Policy and Terms of Service apply to reCAPTCHA.

We don't use advertising cookies, retargeting pixels, or third-party analytics on this site.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The site will still work. For more about how Squarespace handles data, see the Squarespace Privacy Policy.

Berman Creative Ads API and Google user data

Berman Creative Ads API is an internal tool that Berman Creative uses to manage and report on the Google Ads campaigns it runs for its clients. It is not offered to the public. No outside users sign in to it, and no one signs in with a personal Google account. It connects to the Google Ads API through a Google Cloud service account. It works only inside Google Ads accounts that our clients have given Berman Creative access to manage.

What data it accesses. Google Ads data from those client accounts only:

  • Account names and IDs
  • Campaign, ad group, keyword, ad, budget, bidding, and conversion settings
  • Performance data such as impressions, clicks, cost, conversions, and search terms reports
  • Keyword ideas, search volume, and bid estimates from Google's Keyword Planner

The tool doesn't access Gmail, Google Drive, contacts, calendars, or anyone's personal Google Account information.

How we use it. Only to manage and improve the client's own Google Ads campaigns:

  • To report results to the client
  • To research keywords and bids
  • To make campaign changes that Berman Creative has reviewed and approved

We don't use the data for any other purpose. We don't use it to advertise to anyone, to build profiles, or for any other client. We don't scrape anything. All data comes through Google's official API.

How we store and protect it. Data travels between Google and our tool over encrypted (HTTPS) connections. Copies used for reports and analysis are kept on a private, access-controlled computer that runs our tool. The service account's credentials are kept in a file on that computer that only the tool can read, and are never published or shared. Only Jeff Berman can use the tool or see the data.

How we share it. We don't sell, rent, or trade Google Ads data, and no third party gets access to it except the service provider that runs the tool for us, described below. We share a client's results only with that client. The only exception is when the law requires disclosure. We use an AI assistant service, Cursor (operated by Anysphere, Inc.), to operate the tool and analyze reports for us. Under Cursor's Privacy Policy, Inputs and Suggestions aren't used to train AI models unless we opt in, report them as feedback, or they are flagged for security review.

Limited Use. Berman Creative Ads API's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

How long we keep it. We keep working copies only while we manage the client's account. We delete them within 90 days after the engagement ends, or within 30 days of a deletion request. The data itself stays in the client's Google Ads account, which the client owns and controls.

How to remove access or request deletion. A client can end the tool's access at any time by removing Berman Creative's user or service account from their Google Ads account (in Google Ads, go to Admin → Access and security). To ask us to delete any Google Ads data we hold, email jberman@bermancreative.com.

How we share information in general

We don't sell or rent personal information. We share it only with the service providers that run this site and our email (such as Squarespace and Google Workspace), when the law requires it, or with your permission.

Your choices

You can ask to see, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you. Email jberman@bermancreative.com and we'll respond within 30 days.

Children

This site and our tools are meant for businesspeople. They are not directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect information from children.

Security

We take reasonable steps to protect the information we hold. Those steps include encrypted connections, password-protected accounts, and limited access. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to keep your information safe.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we'll post the new version here and update the effective date. If we ever change how the Ads API tool uses Google user data, we'll update this policy before making that change.
